Every acre gets water if Sujala Sravanthi is complete: CM

Darlapudi (Anakapalle dist): Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday felt that if the North Andhra Sujala Sravanthi is completed every acre in the region will get water for irrigation.

After visiting the left bank canal of the Polavaram project at Darlapudi in Anakapalle district, Naidu at a public meeting, announced that the tenders will soon be called for to begin the left bank canal works.

“Initially irrigation water will be supplied to 2.2 lakh acres by completing the works in the first phase with Rs800 cr. If the Krishna, the Godavari, the Pennar and the Vamsadhara rivers are interlinked the State will never face any kind of drought situation,” he said. Stating that he will work for the welfare of the people with the strength given by the Almighty, Naidu regretted that the previous government totally made the State go bankrupt in all ways. With the inefficiency of the previous government three sugar mills were closed, he said and promised to do justice to the sugarcane farmers.

The Chief Minister advised the officers to do away with the corporate culture and said that in the Sujala Sravanthi works did not move a step forward during the previous government. Naidu, who was given a rousing reception by the local Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other party leaders, on his arrival to the North Andhra region for the first time after assuming charge as the Chief Minister for the fourth time, visited a photo exhibition.

“I have the bounden responsibility to clear the debt of the people who voted for me and North Andhra people are next to the people of both the Godavari districts who have shown their affection towards me.
